Wheat and durum growers have a new option for enhanced broadleaf weed and grass control. OpenSky® herbicide offers rotational freedom and ease of use in an easy-to-handle formulation.
This new herbicide formulation contains two active ingredients with two modes of action, reducing the likelihood of weed resistance.
“OpenSky offers winter and spring wheat growers consistent control of high-anxiety grasses, such as wild oats, yellow foxtail and cheatgrass. Difficult broadleaf weeds, including kochia, mustards and wild buckwheat, also are no match for the new herbicide,” says Joe Yenish, field scientist, Corteva Agriscience.
OpenSky combines exceptional weed control with excellent crop safety and rotational flexibility. With OpenSky, wheat growers have the option to plant the high-value crops best tailored for their acres.
A wide application window offers flexibility to adjust to unpredictable weather conditions. Apply 1 pint of OpenSky per acre to actively growing spring wheat from three-leaf stage until flag leaf emergence. For winter wheat, growers can apply 1 to 1.25 pints of OpenSky® herbicide in the fall or spring from three-leaf stage until flag leaf emergence.
In addition, OpenSky is tank-mix-compatible with fungicides, insecticides and several other broadleaf herbicides.
