As a pesticide registrant, Corteva is responsible for reporting to United States EPA any allegation of adverse effects to human health or the environment resulting from alleged exposure to Corteva pesticide products. In addition to reporting to USEPA (and several states), similar reporting is required by several other geographies, including France, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and other EU countries.
In the United States, the Federal Insecticide Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) is the statute that regulates pesticides in the United States and gives registrants the permission to sell these products.
Section 6(a)(2) of the FIFRA states: “If at any time after the registration of a pesticide the registrant has additional factual information regarding unreasonable adverse effects on the environment of the pesticide, he shall submit such information to the Administrator.”
