When used in programs with multiple modes of action, Loyant^® is highly effective in controlling challenging weeds, including barnyardgrass. For best results, apply Loyant to actively growing rice and weeds that are not currently subjected to undue stress, such as abnormally hot or cold weather, environmental conditions such as drought, or hail damage, prior herbicide applications or soils with high salt content. Keep these best management practices in mind:

• Apply Loyant when rice and weeds are actively growing.
  
• Adequate soil moisture levels before, during and after application of Loyant^® herbicide will result in better barnyardgrass control.
  
• The best weed control results are achieved when daytime and nighttime temperatures are warm (60 F or higher).
  
• Use Loyant as a part of a herbicide program - such practices include, but are not limited to, field scouting, use of weed free crop seed, proper water management, correct weed pest identification, following rotational practices outlined on pesticide labels, and treating when target weed populations are at the correct stage and economic thresholds are met for control.
• Loyant may be applied to rice from two-leaf stage, with no exposed roots, up to 60 days before harvest.
• Remember to read and follow all label requirements.

Label Highlights

• The best weed control results are achieved when Loyant is applied to actively growing weeds, when daytime and nighttime temperatures are warm (60 F or higher) and when soil moisture is adequate to support active weed growth prior to and following application.
• Loyant herbicide may be applied to rice from two-leaf stage, with no exposed roots, up to 60 days before harvest. 
• Rice crops grown under adverse environmental conditions, such as extreme cold or heat may express temporary crop injury when Loyant is applied, including minimal height reduction or leaf malformations.

To minimize off-target damage with any crop protection product application, minimize driftable fine spray droplets. Best management practices include:

• Applying at higher application pressures (PSI).
• Orient solid-stream nozzles straight back to produce the largest droplets and the lowest drift. Significant deflection from horizontal will reduce droplet size and increase drift potential. 
• Reduce boom width as % of wingspan. 
• Do not assume that drift reduction agents will always improve droplet spectrum. 
• Fly at slower application speeds when aircraft allows. 
• Apply at a minimum of 10 GPA.
