INDIANAPOLIS — Unveiled at PestWorld 2018 in Orlando, the next advancement of the ActiveSense™ system makes it more powerful and versatile than ever. The state-of-the-art technology enables remote monitoring 24/7 to provide insights into the pest activity, device tampering, temperature and system health.
“The most notable new feature is the highly-accurate infrared sensor,” says Mike Hanson, Product Manager for the ActiveSense system. “The new streamlined sensor design with an internalized antenna can now be used in virtually any multi-catch trap or station or other devices without special tools or modifications. The sensor can also be used outside of traps to monitor along rodent runways.”
The ActiveSense system is quick and easy to install thanks to smart hardware design and an intuitive native mobile app. Service technicians can now activate sensors with just the tap of their smart phone. The technician can access the data on any platform and from any device, providing the precise information needed to improve workflow and increase efficiency.
“Instead of checking traps, technicians can spend more time inspecting and investigating the site to head off pest issues before they become a problem. It’s a win for the client, the technician and the pest management professional,” says Hanson.
Advancing pest management
Because remote monitoring is destined to become an industry standard practice, Hanson says continued investment is being made to further enhance the capabilities of the ActiveSense system.
“A key pillar in the ActiveSense vision is protecting public health,” Hanson says. “We can do that now by using data-driven insight to predict pest problems and help prevent them.”
“We are working with pest management professionals to explore how this remote monitoring technology can bring value to the wide range of accounts they serve. They are looking for not only flexible technology, but a flexible business model that is free from overly-burdensome contracts and rigid, long-term commitments.”
The ActiveSense system gives pest management professionals cutting-edge technology — a proven monitoring and analytics system to keep a step ahead of pests. Monitoring pest activity and environmental conditions 24/7, ActiveSense can build predictive models that deliver the insights needed to take a proactive approach. So technicians can deal with pests before they become a problem. Testing on more than 200 real-world sites means reliable results. ActiveSense has also been developed with leading pest management companies and other experts to make sure it fits industry needs.
